Nestled within a wooded landscape, The Brodnik Outdoor Learning Environment's design preserves the natural character of the site—minimizing tree removal and repurposing felled trees and native stone as integral elements of the play space.
WRT collaborated with Studio Ludo and Benchmark students to shape the design through a participatory process. In an interactive workshop, students were invited to imagine how they wanted to play—expressing their ideas through drawings and models. These visions directly informed the design, resulting in a dynamic environment that encourages both active and quiet play across age groups. The space supports curiosity, connection to nature, and flexible outdoor learning in a setting deeply rooted in place.
